Night work on U.S. 71 to delay traffic

Nighttime traffic could be affected by construction work to take place at night along U.S. 71 Vernon County, beginning next week.

According to a press release from the Missouri Department of Transportation, construction of the interchange on the east side of Route DD at U.S. 71, south of Nevada, will take place overnight Aug. 7-19.

Crews with Kolb Grading will cross U.S. Route 71 with earth-moving equipment from 7 p.m.- 5 a.m. Sunday nights through Friday mornings, so temporary signals will stop traffic briefly during the equipment crossing to allow the crossings to take place safely.
