Creasy, Kimbrough earn victories for NHS tennis team

JOPLIN--Leah Creasy and Regan Kimbrough led the way for the Nevada High School girls tennis team on Thursday against Joplin.
But it wasn't enough to secure the dual win.
Joplin defeated Nevada 6-3 at the Joplin Athletic Complex.
Creasy and Kimbrough accounted for all of Nevada's wins.
At number-one singles, Nevada's Creasy defeated Siri Ancha 8-6.
Kimbrough won the number-two singles match over Joplin's Laela Zaidi 8-8, with a 7-5 tie-breaker.
The duo of Creasy and Kimbrough teamed up to win the number-one doubles match 8-4 over Ancha and Lexi Wilcoxon of Joplin.
Those three wins were the only victories of the day for Nevada.
Wilcoxon defeated Nevada's Alexa Cubbage 8-0 at number-three singles.
Joplin's Morgan Butler won the number-four singles match 8-3 over Brandi Perrin.
Dana Jacobs defeated Nevada's Jessica DeCocq 8-1 at number-five singles.
Sarah Ingle topped Lauren Phillips 8-3 at number-six singles.
The Joplin team of Zaidi and Ingle topped Cubbage and DeCocq 8-3 at number-two doubles.
Jacobs and Huff defeated Perrin and Phillips 8-2 in the number-three doubles match.
Nevada's tennis team travels to Monett on Tuesday.
