NHS cross country finishes regular season

WASHBURN, Mo. -- The Nevada High School cross country team finished the regular season on Thursday at the Southwest Invitational.

Nevada senior Alex Bledsoe finished third overall at the invite, crossing the line at 17 minutes even.

Also for Nevada, Ben Sommer was 27th with a time of 18:30, Dalton Shunkwiler finished 39th (18:58) and Sam Eador was 60th (20:10). David Vickers finished 68th (20:40) and Max Daniel was 71st (20:45).

Coach Robert Watts' Tigers will compete at the Class 3, District 7 meet on Saturday, Oct. 29 in Kansas City at Swope Park.

Middle school results

John Quitno finished 19th in the 1.5 mile boys race with a time of 9:30. Thomas Prewitt was 21st (9:36). It was the last meet of the year for the middle school boys.
