Lorene Maxine Russell
Lorene Maxine Russell, 91, of Pittsburg, passed away Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011, in the Sunset Manor Nursing Home in Frontenac.
She was born March 9, 1920, at Gross, Kan., the daughter of James Degraft and Eva Pearl (Tipton) Green.
On Dec. 11, 1940, she was united in marriage to Herman Russell at Cassville, Mo. He preceded her in death on March 2, 2006.
Mrs. Russell was a homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother.
Membership was held in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Eagles. She was a former member of TOPS.
Survivors include one son, James A. Russell and his wife, Linda, of Dallas, Texas; three daughters, Janet Sincavage and her husband, Bernard, of Pineville, La., Sue Russell of Pittsburg, and Carolyn Harper and her husband, Dennis, of Fort Scott; one sister, Nora Lee Kelly and her husband, Donald, of Goddard, Kan.; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers Bill Bahn and Harold Green; and one son, Wayne Russell.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 29, at the Highland Park Cemetery with Bishop Mark Brown officiating. Burial followed the services. The family suggests memorials to Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and/or Harry Hynes Hospice. These may be left at or mailed to the Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St., Pittsburg, KS 66762.
