Upcoming tumble-a-thon to benefit holiday charity drives

The Tumbling Tigers Gymnastics Team and the Nevada Gymnastics and Dance Center are getting together to raise money for two upcoming events that benefit local children.

The groups are conducting a tumble-a-thon to benefit Shop With a Cop and the Vernon County Ambulance District Christmas toy drive. In Shop With a Cop, area police officers go shopping with donated funds with children from families facing financial hardship. Each child is able to shop for family members and himself during the event. The VCAD toy drive is a long-standing tradition in Nevada, and also provides gifts for children in families facing financial hardship.

The event will take place in the small gymnasium at the Franklin P. Norman City/County Community Center in Nevada, 10 a.m.-noon, Nov. 5. Donations will be accepted.
