Mildred Lee Wintjen

Mildred Lee Wintjen, 99, Nevada, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011, at Moore-Few Care Center in Nevada. She was born Nov. 19, 2011, in Vermillion, Kan., to Ira Mixer and Flossie Richardson Mixer.

Mildred was raised in Sheldon and graduated from high school in Sheldon in 1929. She lived and worked in New York, Florida and Kansas City. She spent time in Harrisonville before coming to Nevada in 2000. Mildred worked for a number of years in real estate in Kansas City. She was a member of the Sheldon United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two nieces, Ann R. Darling, Sheldon, Mo., and Jean Novak, Burbank, Calif. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Ivan Mixer; and two sisters, Thelma Barrett and Maxine Darling.

Following cremation, a private committal will be held in Sheldon Cemetery at a later date.

Those who wish may contribute to the Sheldon United Methodist Church in her memory.
