Everyone accounted for after Prairie Pride incident on Monday

A host of area firefighters from various departments responded to a fire alarm at the Prairie Pride Biodeisel facility near Deerfield at about 7:50 p.m., Monday.

Details were sketchy Monday night, but an incident on the second floor of the facility had apparently sparked the alarm. According to those on the scene, everyone in the plant at the time had been accounted for. A steady stream of workers and members of the families of workers also came to the scene, with several of them refused entry to the facility grounds while public safety workers conducted operations.

No additional information was available at press time Monday.
