Margie O. Colvin

Margie O. Colvin, 93, formerly of Nevada, Mo., passed away on Monday, Nov. 28, 2011, at Cuba Manor Nursing Home, Cuba, Mo. She was born on Jan. 9, 1918, to James Earl Miles and Ada Gertrude Culver Miles near Enid, Okla.

Margie was the supervisor of the dietary department at the Medicalodge in Nevada during the 1970s and 1980s. After retiring from Medicalodge, she worked in the kitchen at the First Baptist Church in Nevada and later volunteered in the kitchen at the First Baptist Church in Marshall, Mo. She loved traveling and spending time with her family.

Survivors include one son, Dennis Davis and his wife, Doris, Rolla, Mo.; one grandson, Jeff Davis and his wife, Debbie, Rolla, Mo.; one granddaughter, Denise Sollars and her husband, Charlie, Paola, Kan.; four great-grandsons, R. Weston Whitlock, Lenexa, Kan., Blake Davis, Fayette, Mo., Trevor Davis and Clay Davis, both of Rolla, Mo.; and one great-granddaughter, Madison Whitlock, Overland Park, Kan. She was preceded in death by one son, Duane Colvin; one daughter, Luinda Colvin; two brothers, Ben Miles and Al Miles; and one sister, Lena Behrens.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 1, at Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington, Nevada. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park, Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home.
