NHS JV girls win twice at Harrisonville

The Nevada High School JV girls basketball team began play at the Harrisonville Junior Varsity Tournament on Monday with a 45-25 victory over Belton. Freshman Rilie Good led Nevada with 19 points.

The JV girls then defeated East Buchanon 39-30 on Tuesday night.

Nikiya Feezell led a balanced scoring attack with 12 points, followed by Michaela Brewer with 10 points. Nevada will play for the championship Wednesday night.

On the JV boys side, Grain Valley defeated Nevada 52-43 in the first round on Monday.

Also, the NHS freshman girls defeated Carthage 30-12 on Monday, but Carthage won the boys game 71-36.
