NEVC sweeps Calhoun

CALHOUN -- Northeast Vernon County swept a basketball doubleheader with Calhoun on Friday, as the Knights won the boys game 62-45.
NEVC also won the girls game 42-21.
In the boys contest, a 22-7 run in the second quarter allowed the Knights to pull away for good.
Tanner Stutzman scored 13, while Grant Davis and Jacob Bell added 12 points apiece for the Knights (2-1). NEVC used a balanced attack, as Richard Lyness and Cody DeOrnellis added nine points apiece and Jacob Maus rounded out the scoring with seven.
Girls
The girls game was close until the Knights went on a 16-3 run in the fourth quarter to pull out the win.
Camille Buttorff grabbed 22 rebounds and scored 13 for NEVC (1-2), while Tiffany Scheer added 12.
