Michael and Kayla Tinsley
Michael Lawrence Tinsley and Kayla Sue Bishop exchanged wedding vows on Oct. 8, 2011, in an outdoor ceremony at the home of the bride's parents.
Mike is the son of Larry and Mary Tinsley of Ark City, Kan., and the grandson of Lawrence and Jackie Tinsley of Paola, Kan., and the late Vicente and Rose Morales.
Kayla is the daughter of Pat and Cathy Bishop of Fort Scott and the granddaughter of Margaret and the late Dr. Dean Bishop, Pittsburg, and Naomi and the late Tom Cameron of Arma.
Lesha Franklin, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor. The bride's attendants were Candace Dietrich and Luke Thompson, friends of the bride.
John Lair, friend of the groom, served as best man. The groomsmen were Scott Keith, and Rob Wilkinson, friends of the groom.
Maggie Rader, niece of the groom, served as junior bride. Tanis Franklin and Elsa Bishop, nieces of the bride, served as flower girls. Kailen Rader, nephew of the groom served as ring bearer. Josh Franklin, and Chad Jefferson, friends of the groom, along with Bryan Bishop, brother of the bride, were ushers.
Faron, cousin of the groom, officiated the double-ring ceremony, while Raechelle Tinsley, sister of the groom, and Stacy Bishop, sister-in-law of the bride, were the photographers. Cathy Bishop and Michelle Brittain sang "The Rose" during the unity sand ceremony.
Following the ceremony the couple had a reception and dinner. A two-tiered chocolate wedding cake adorned with black, green and silver ribbon and flowers made by Candace Dietrich was served.
The couple honeymooned in Eureka Springs, Ark., and reside in Fort Scott.
The bride is currently employed as a nurse by Mercy Health Center in Fort Scott. The groom currently works for Pitt Plastics, Inc., in Pittsburg, Kan.
