Nevada Regional Medical Center has hired a new chief financial officer who also will have the title of chief operations officer. After the resignation of eight-year CFO Cindy Buck in September, the hospital has been recruiting for this administrative position.

An interim CFO was hired to handle the vital role until a permanent officer could be found. Tommy McGee was filling in at NRMC and found the hospital to be an ideal working environment.

McGee was hired as the permanent COO/CFO in December.

McGee comes to NRMC from Texarkana. He brings a wealth of knowledge having served as an Interim Administrator with four hospitals and healthcare companies for the last 5 years. Prior to his contract work, McGee worked at CHRISTUS Health in the Ark-La-Tex Region for 32 years, most recently as the regional chief financial officer. McGee received his bachelor's and master's degrees in business administration from Texas A&M and went on to achieve his CPA certificate. He holds numerous professional memberships including advanced membership in the Healthcare Financial Management Association.

Currently, McGee and his wife Annette own a ranch in Texarkana where they raise horses. They have a son in his third year of medical school at the University of Texas, San Antonio and enjoy reading, movies, and traveling.

"Tommy has so much to offer NRMC. He is very versed in financial management and is the right person to see us into the future of healthcare and guide us through healthcare reform. We are thankful he accepted our offer to stay," stated Judy Feuquay, president and chief executive officer at NRMC.
