ST. LOUIS -- The Cottey College basketball team fell to 5-5 on the season with a 68-48 road loss at St. Louis Community College-Forest Park on Saturday.

Forest Park used a big first-half to take control the game. The hosts doubled up Cottey in the first half, leading 42-21 at halftime.

The Comets won the second half 27-26, but the big deficit was too much to overcome.

Bailey Braden scored 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead the way for Cottey.

Santana Cruz added 12 points for the Comets.

Jordan Davidson returned to the Cottey lineup for the first time since late November. The team's point guard, Davidson scored eight and handed out seven assists after recovering from an infection in her knee.

Cottey turned the ball over 21 times in the loss and shot just 18 of 53 from the field (33 percent).

The Comets are on the road again tonight, as Dave Ketterman's squad will take on North Central College in Trenton.

Cottey travels to Hesston on Saturday and then is back home on Tuesday, Jan. 24 against the Ottawa JV team.
