Patricia Marie (Koehler) McFarland

Patricia Marie (Koehler) McFarland, 65, of Lee's Summit, Mo., passed away Jan. 16, 2012, at St. Joseph Medical Center, after a brief illness. Ms. McFarland was born Sept. 11, 1946, in Nevada, Mo.

She retired from the University of Kansas Medical Center Research Institute in 2008, where she had served as a clinical research accountant. Previously, she owned and operated a credit bureau in Nevada for several years. She was a prolific, talented writer and a published author.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Phil and Dorothy Koehler; and one sister, Phyllis K. Davis. Survivors include her sister, Martha Compton and husband, Larry, of Milo, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.
