Villasenor, Austin to perform at Cottey
Comedian Melissa Villasenor is scheduled to perform at Cottey College on Monday, Jan. 23, at 8 p.m. in Raney Dining Room.
Villasenor is a stand-up comedian and performs incredible voice impressions of female comedians and singers, a press release said. She grew up in Los Angeles and started stand up at the age of 15. She is a regular at the Comedy Store and Improv's and has done impressions on FrankTV on TBS, voiceover on Family Guy and Adventure Time, and most recently was a semi-finalist on the 2011 season of America's Got Talent.
Tickets for Melissa Villasenor are $5 for adults and $4 for those under age 18 or over age 62. Tickets will be available at the door the night of the show.
On Jan. 28, singer Tje Austin will perform at Cottey College, at 8 p.m. in Raney Dining Room.
Tje (pronounced TYE), a vocalist and songwriter who recently appeared on NBC's "The Voice," hails from Austin, Texas, is a breath of fresh air and is making his mark on the music scene. Austin's smooth and warm vocals caress the soul and speak to the heart. Austin sang the National Anthem for the 2010 American League champion Texas Rangers, his MySpace site has over 3,000,000 hits, and his music is in rotation on satellite radio.
Tickets for Tje Austin are $5 for adults and $4 for those under age 18 or over age 62. Tickets will be available at the door the night of the show.
Raney Dining Room is in the lower level of Robertson Hall on the southeast corner of Austin and Tower streets in Nevada. Parking is available in the lot immediately south of Robertson which is accessible off of Tower Street.
