Grace Maxine Nelson
Grace Maxine Nelson, 96, Nevada, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012, at Moore-Few Care Center in Nevada. She was born on March 10, 1915, in Nevada, to Frank Albert Taylor and Mamie Inez Seaver Taylor. She married R.B. Allen on Nov. 28, 1932, and he preceded her in death on April 8, 1988. She later married Paul Nelson on Dec. 13, 1996, in Arizona, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 8, 2001.
Maxine was raised in Nevada and lived in Kansas City, Kan., for a number of years. She was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church in Nevada and later attended the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Nevada. She spent many hours volunteering at Nevada Regional Medical Center for the Nevada Regional Medical Center Women's Auxiliary.
Survivors include two grandsons, Kent Allen, McKinney, Texas, and Mark Allen of Canada; one stepdaughter, Peggy Diggins, Sheldon, Mo.; and one stepson, Jack Nelson, Raymore, Mo. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Max F. Allen; one sister, Margaret Taylor; and one brother, Clarence Allen.
A graveside service was held at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 20, at Newton Burial Park, Nevada, with Dr. Melvin Mabra officiating. Friends called until 10:30 a.m., Friday, at Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington, Nevada.
