Middle school boys split games with Neosho

The Nevada Middle School seventh grade boys A basketball team defeated Neosho 37-35 on Tuesday. Matt Sommer scored 18 for Nevada, while Patrick Ferry had eight, and Myles McNeley chipped in seven. The A team is now 11-2.

The B team also defeated Neosho, winning 42-39. Cameron Diaz scored 18 and Nathan McCall added nine. The B team finished the season with a 6-3 record.

In the eighth grade A game, Neosho won 50-13. The Tigers were only down 10-8 after one quarter, but the Wildcats took off from that point. Andy Heathman scored five for Nevada (5-6). The B team lost 31-23. Conner West scored nine.

The middle school teams will compete at the Tri-County Tournament next week. The seventh graders will play at Webb City and the eighth graders play at Carthage.
