The Rev. Eldon C. Daniel
The Rev. Eldon C. Daniel died Jan. 20, 2012, from complications caused by Alzheimer's Disease at North Hills Hospital, in North Richland Hills, Texas. He was 89.
The Rev. Daniel was born in Brockton, Mass., to the late Milton Daniel and Carrie (Fish) Daniel. He remained a New England man in spirit his entire life. The Rev. Daniel was the last living sibling of 14 brothers and sisters.
The Rev. Daniel served as pastor for Methodist churches in Bronaugh and Moundville, Mo., from 1966 to 1969. He was a chaplain and counselor at Nevada State Hospital from 1966 to 1987. From the late 1970s into the 1980s, he owned three successful Mother Goose Child Care Centers with his wife, Ethne, serving as director in Joplin, Mo.
The Rev. Daniel is survived by his wife, Ethne; his children, Charles and his wife, Ellen, Portland, Ore., Dale and his wife, Jennifer, Los Angeles, Calif., Kevin and his wife, Sandi, Keller, Texas, and Kimberly Reed, Olathe, Kan.; as well as 11 grandchildren and a great grandchild. Also survived by his aunt, Annie Daniel, Newport News, Va.; as well as many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
A memorial was held Jan. 23 at First United Methodist Church of Keller, Texas, officiated by lead pastor, Dr. Chris Hayes.
