Peter "Pete" Cyril Stonebraker
Peter "Pete" Cyril Stonebraker, 55, Dallas, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, April 3, in his home due to a severe illness. He was born on Nov. 4, 1956, in St. Charles, Mo., to Edward and Betty (Sherman) Stonebraker.
Peter graduated from Nevada High School in 1975. He worked for the railroad for a short time, then started his own painting, contracting business in Dallas, which he maintained the remainder of his life.
Pete loved canoeing, camping, collecting Pontiac cars, bicycling, a good poker game with his buddies, barbecuing and cooking for his friends. If he did any traveling, it was usually "east bound" -- to visit his daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter in Tennessee. He was especially proud of his granddaughter, Loralei Kaylee.
Peter is survived by daughter, Michelle Brandel and her husband, Johnathan, and granddaughter, Loralei of Sevierville, Tenn.; parents, Edward and Betty Stonebraker of El Dorado Springs, Mo.; siblings, Jerome Stonebraker of Olathe, Kan., Fred Stonebraker of Silverthorne, Colo., Laura Schuster and her husband, Richard, of Nevada, Bill and Cathy Stonebraker of Sheldon, Mo., John Stonebraker of Overland Park, Kan., Louise Routledge and her husband, Ron, of Brookfield, Mo., Timothy Stonebraker and his wife, Stephanie, of Sun Prairie, Wis., and Edward Stonebraker Jr. and his wife, Zury, of Arlington, Texas; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends -- too many to mention.
Peter will be remembered as a very caring, sensitive, generous and extremely thoughtful friend.
Memorial service will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Nevada on Monday, April 9, at 10 a.m. Cremation will follow, with an additional memorial service to be held in Dallas, Texas, on Wednesday, April 11.
