The Nevada High School wrestling team held its awards banquet on April 4. The wrestlers were recognized for their achievements for the 2011-2012 season.

Tanner Charles, Slide Stiles and Zach Shepherd all became members of the Century Club, each posting over 100 wins during their high school careers. Daxtyn Osburn was named Top Newcomer, Tanner Charles was named Most Valuable Wrestler and also received the Tiger Pit Award, while Austin Huggins was named Most Improved.

This was the fourth year for Coach Devin White and three seniors -- Charles, Kyle Bennett, and Shepherd have been with him all four years. Bennett said a few words on behalf of all the wrestlers. "Wrestling is not a sport to be taken lightly," he said. "It takes hard work and dedication."
