Vernon County Northern Commissioner Neal Gerster signs the official document proclaiming Thursday, May 3, as a "National Day of Prayer" after the official reading by Southern Commissioner Kennon Shaw. The National Day of Prayer in Nevada will begin with a breakfast hosted by the First Christian Church of Nevada, which is located at the corner of Austin Boulevard and Washington Street. A ceremony recognizing the day will be held on the south side of the Vernon County Courthouse beginning at noon. All community members are invited to attend.
