Margaret E. Johnson

Margaret E. Johnson, 51, Moundville, Mo., passed away at her home on Friday, May 4, 2012, after a brief illness. She was born on Sept. 17, 1960, in Kansas City, Mo., to Sherman Raymond Phelps and Helen Leona Cheet Phelps. She married Tom E. Johnson on Feb. 8, 2000, in Nevada, and he survives of the home.

Margaret grew up in Kansas City then came to Nevada in the early 1980s. She has worked at the Nevada Habilitation Center, J.H. Collectibles, Dollar General and has worked at Heartland Hospital for the past 11 years where she was housekeeping supervisor. Margaret loved being with her children and grandchildren and going to yard sales.

Survivors in addition to her husband include five children, Susie Havens, and her husband, Shaun, Butler, Mo., James Washburn and his wife, Tracy, Nevada, Zeb Roberts and his wife, Keasha, Nevada, Joe Roberts and his wife, Nicole, Moundville, Mo., and Chelsea Johnson and her fiancé, Charlie Batchelor, Shady Point, Okla.; eight grandchildren and one waiting arrival; one great-granddaughter; two sisters, Diana Phelps, Nevada, and Hazel Dempsy, Kansas City, Mo.; two brothers, Jimmy Phelps, Nevada, and Richard Phelps, Kansas City, Mo.; several nieces, nephews and many adopted children. She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and one sister.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 8, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Jerod Lamb officiating. Interment will follow at Moore Cemetery, Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service and the family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m., Monday, May 7, at the funeral home.
