Two people injured in weekend ATV crash

A 39-year-old Nevada woman and a 3-year-old boy were injured in a May 12 ATV crash on private property 5 miles southeast of Nevada, according to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred at 11:45 a.m., when the 2001 Honda ATV, driven by Michelle D. Martin drive through a wire fence, knocking both occupants from the vehicle. the Patrol said. Martin suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Nevada Regional Medical Center. The passenger, Taytin J. Beard, suffered serious injuries and was transported to Children's Mercy hospital in Kansas City, via air ambulance, the report said.
