Ferry begins play at state golf tourney

SPRINGFIELD -- Nevada High School senior Joseph Ferry began play at the Class 3 State Golf Tournament on Monday at Rivercut Golf Course in Springfield.

Ferry finished the first day of competition with a 78.

That score was good for 24th place.

Gordon Hamilton of Pembroke Hill shot a 70 and is in first place heading into today.

The second and final day of competition began this morning.
