Thursday, May 31, 2012
The quilt above will be given away in a drawing Saturday afternoon. Tickets available June 8-9, at the Bushwhacker Quilt Guild's show, inside the community center.

The Bushwhacker Quilt Guild will be holding an open quilt show from 2:30 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 8 and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, in the old gymnasium at the Franklin P. Norman City/County Community Center.

There will be no charge to show a quilt and all quilts, both old and new, as long as they have not been entered in recent years, are welcome. There will be no judging, however, ribbons will be awarded for the three Viewer's Choice categories: adult quilt, youth quilt and other category.

There will be room to display more than 100 quilts in the old gym.

A Mystery Quilt designed by Ann Jones, called "Mind Games," will be on display in the show.

The quilt guild is planning a variety of activities during the two-day event, including: children's book reading, bed turning, and a boutique with homemade items, quilting magazines, patterns and baked goods.

The guild is also planning to conduct a variety of sewing demonstrations both Friday and Saturday.
