Neptunes begin summer swimming season

The Nevada Neptunes Swim Team got off to a fine start to the summer season in Webb City last Saturday.

The Neptunes took third place in the first meet of the Tri-State Swim Conference season. There were 12 teams in attendance. Nevada's Neptunes had 39 of their 91 swimmers compete.

Sophia Wehrman earned the second place high point trophy in the girls 9-10 age division.

Head Coach Karen Claypool reported a 65 percent improvement in individual best times, as well as an excellent overall team performance.

The Neptunes will head to Pittsburg, Kan. this weekend (June 9-10) to compete at the Pittsburg YMCA Invitational Meet.
