Griffons earn road win at Sedalia on Tuesday

SEDALIA -- One run was all it took.

The Nevada Griffons defeated the Sedalia Bombers 1-0 on Tuesday night in MINK League action.

The low-scoring affair ended with only one run between the two teams all night.

The Griffons improved to 4-0 in the MINK League and 5-0 on the season.

Nevada scored once in the second inning against Sedalia pitcher Lee Stoppleman.

In the frame, Patrick Kregeloh drew a one-out walk and then MJ Sartin singled.

Kregeloh scored from third on Colton Besett's sacrifice, giving the Griffons a 1-0 lead.

It ended up being the only run of the game.

Griffons pitcher Lucas Schiraldi, making his first appearance, got the win on the mound. He went five innings, allowed three hits and struck out seven. The right-hander from Navarro College in Texas walked two.

Also for the Griffons, Kody McFarland pitched two scoreless innings, striking out three. Mathew Lynch earned the save, pitching the final two innings, giving up just one hit and one walk.

The Bombers had just six hits in the game --five singles and a double.

The Griffons had just five hits in the game -- with Sartin going 2-for-3. AJ Krist, Rick Hepworth, and Jesse Solar had one hit apiece.

The Griffons are home tonight at 7 p.m. against Ozark.
