More than three dozen employers and several dozen job seekers gather for a jobs fair held in the gymnasium at the Franklin P. Norman City/County Community Center on Tuesday, June 19, 2012. The free, well attended event was sponsored by the Missouri Career Center and the Nevada Vernon County Chamber of Commerce. Employers from Nevada, Fort Scott, Kan., Springfield, Mo., El Dorado Springs and other cities offered company brochures, job applications and other information to more than 100 prospective employees. Chamber of Commerce Director Gina Ensor said the event had a "very good turnout" and that both small and large as well as local and distant employers and all branches of the military were represented.
