Griffons fall to Bombers on Monday night

NEVADA -- The Sedalia Bombers inched closer in the league standings with a 4-3 win over the Nevada Griffons on Monday night at Lyons Stadium.
With Monday's result, Nevada's lead over Sedalia is down to one and a half games in the MINK League's South Division.
Ozark is just two and a half back of Nevada, while Joplin sits three games back.
On Monday, the Griffons struck first, scoring once in the second.
Matt Burns started things off with a single. Stuart Jeck then hit an RBI double for a 1-0 Griffons lead.
But Sedalia got to Nevada starter Chris Mullins in the fourth.
The Bombers scored three runs on just one hit. Kyle Hardy and Koby Peebles both walked.
After an out, Dylan Mays hit a three-run homer.
Nevada got a run back in the sixth and in the seventh to tie the game.
In the sixth, Patrick Kregeloh hit a solo home run.
One inning later, Jesse Solar drove in a run with a double, scoring Jeck. That made it 3-3.
Sedalia scored once in the eighth on two hits. Hardy eventually stole home for a 4-3 lead.
Nevada failed to score in the eighth and the ninth.
Kregeloh and Solar had two hits apiece.
Solar had two doubles.
Nick Ford took the loss on the mound. Ford went one and two-thirds of an inning and allowed one earned run while striking out four.
Mullins went six innings, allowing three earned runs, four walks and just two hits.
Nico Lytle pitched an inning and a third.
Nevada plays Joplin tonight in Pittsburg.
The next home date for the Griffons will be Thursday against the Kansas City Monarchs at 7 p.m.
