U.S. 71 ramp extension work at U.S. 54 begins next week

Work to extend acceleration ramps at five interchanges along U.S. 71 in Vernon, Jasper and Cass counties will mean narrowed ramp lanes and lane closings along U.S. 71, the Missouri Department of Transporta-tion said.

The project begins on Monday, July 9, at the U.S. 71/U.S. 54 interchange in Nevada.

On Monday and Tuesday, crews will work along shoulders and there should be no impacts to traffic. a press release said.

On Wednesday, July 11, the southbound and northbound right-lane of U.S. 71 will be closed and on ramps at the U.S. 54 interchange will be narrowed.
