Ferry wins 2 in match play at CJ

CARL JUNCTION, Mo. -- Nevada High School's Joseph Ferry won two matches but his Joplin team lost to Springfield, 13-5, in match play at Briarbrook Golf Course here Thursday.

Ferry and partner Ben Starkey defeated Springfield's Baron Weaver and Jesse Assa 3 and 1 in doubles. In singles play, Ferry beat Weaver 3 and 1.

Springfield won four of the six fourball matches and nine of the 12 singles matches play.
