Robert Lee Walker
Robert Lee Walker, 80, Nevada, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, at Nevada Regional Medical Center, following a sudden illness. He was born March 20, 1932, in Rock Island, Ill., to Mr. and Mrs. M. Walker.
Robert was born and raised in Rock Island, Ill. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and received one bronze star and a purple heart. He worked as a welder for McLaughlin Body in Illinois for 15 years. Robert moved to Neosho in the 1980s and worked for Talbot Wire until his retirement in 1994. He was a member of the Neosho VFW. Robert has resided at the Medicalodges of Nevada for the past two years.
Survivors include one son, Jason Walker, Granby, Mo.; three daughters, Deanna Walker, Nichols, Iowa, Rhonda L. Walker-Russo, Riverside, Iowa, and Barbara D. Walker, West Liberty, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one stepbrother, Tim Walker, state of Illinois; and one stepdaughter, Julie Sherlock, Lone Tree, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; one brother, Jim Walker; and one stepdaughter, Lisa Walker-McAllister.
There are no services planned. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
