Area youth medal in junior golf tourney

NEVADA. -- Players from both sides of the state line placed in a junior golf tournament held at the Frank E. Peters Golf Course Wednesday.

Seventeen golfers participated in four age groups. Nevada golfers took the top three spots in the 8-and-9 year-old division. John Bloesser took first place followed by Owen Swearengen and Cody Larsen.

Cole Wheeler of Chanute, Kan., won the 10-12 year-old age division. Nevada's Bronson Smith took second place and Nevadan Hunter Mason claimed third.

Connor Antonetti of Fort Scott won the 13-15 age division followed by Nevadans Levi Palmer and Jacob Hammontree.

Kansans took all the spots in the 16-18 group. Channing Nielson of Fort Scott finished on top followed by Fort Scott's Jonathon Allen and Pleasanton's Caleb Konicer.
