Renaissance moment: Nevada High School program kicks off new year with assembly

Wednesday, September 5, 2012
Nevada High School students show the skills they developed in the school's Junior Air Force Reserve Office Training Corps. They performed during Tuesday's annual Renaissance program, where students who had recorded perfect attendance with no tardies and good grades were recognized. NHS scholar-athletes and scholar-artists were also recognized.

Nevada High School science teacher Jennifer Dryer, left, history teacher Don Epps, art teacher Whitney Beth and history teacher Ryan Watts show students a side they seldom show during the first student assembly of the year for the Renaissance program, presented by English teacher Bobbie Lou Barber and Library Media Specialist Ranea Schulze. Thirty-two students helped organize the program. The theme was, "Be the Voice of Change."
