Lady Tigers take fifth at Bolivar

BOLIVAR, Mo. -- The Nevada Lady Tigers golf team posted a strong performance Thursday at Silo Ridge Golf Club as they competed in the Bolivar Tournament.
Out of the 12 teams competing for the tournament title, the Lady Tigers finished fifth, with a combined score of 454. Mount Vernon's A squad took the tournament title with an overall team score of 386.
The top individual finisher for the Lady Tigers was Danielle Smith, who took 18th overall with a final score of 109, just 28 strokes behind overall winner, Marshfield's Page Moles. Michael Jones wasn't far behind as she finished the course in 112 strokes to finish in a tie for 23rd. Hannah Householder, Maddie Johnson and Kaitlyn Richmond rounded out the order for Nevada, finishing the course in 114, 119 and 128 strokes, respectively.
The next outing for the Lady Tigers is scheduled for Thursday, when they head to Girard Municipal Golf Course in Girard, Kan., for the Girard Tournament. Tee time is set at 9 a.m.
