Tiger swimmers fare well at Carthage

The Nevada High School boys' swim team got back into action Tuesday at Carthage High School with great success.
Andrei Ziabchenko posted two individual victories for the Tigers, winning the 100-meter backstroke in 1 minute, 7.5 seconds and the 200 individual medley in 2:29.4. Jesse Claypool added another victory to the list for the Tigers as he took the 50 freestyle in 23.6 seconds. The Tigers' 200-meter relay team -- Ziabchenko, Claypool, Dalton Eador and Morgan Hold -- took first as well, finishing with a time of 1:47.3.
Claypool added another top-three finish in the 100 butterfly as he took second in 58.9 seconds. Eador took third in the 100-meter butterfly in 1:05.6 and Bryson Leftwich turned in the Tigers' last top-three finish of the day as he took third in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:24.2
"The team swam very well," Tigers head coach Ryan Watts said. We were very competitive, placed high in quite a few events and looked very strong for early in the season."
The Tigers are scheduled to be back in the pool on Saturday, when they head to Springfield.
