Seventh grade football splits Joplin Northeast

JOPLIN, Mo. -- The Nevada Middle School seventh grade football teams opened the 2012 season Tuesday night, taking on Joplin Northeast Middle School in two hard-fought contests.

In the A game, Nevada fought its way to a 36-24 victory. The B squad wasn't quite as fortunate, ultimately playing to a 0-0 tie.

Head coach Josh Smith's seventh graders are set to be back in action on Tuesday, Sept. 11, when they take on Carl Junction in the first home game of the season.
