Fort Scott volleyball falls in home triangular

FORT SCOTT -- Fort Scott High School's volleyball team was swept in a non-league triangular at the FSHS gymnasium Thursday evening. The Tigers lost to Wellsvillle, 28-26, 25-23, and Paola, 25-13, 25-8.
The Tigers fell to 3-6 on the season and are 0-4 at home.
Stats from the Wellsville match showed Jillian Lattimer with 5 kills, Brianne Lawrence with 4 and Ericah Shoemaker with 3. Maddi Allen and Meredith Hill each recorded 5 assists and Paige Denton had 15 digs and served two aces.
The only stats offered from the Paola match were Lawrence and Sidney Maycumber each picking up 2 kills.
Head coach Carol Bingesser declined comment.
Fort Scott will play in a quadrangular Thursday. The varsity Tigers will be at Osawatomie and will also play matches against Louisburg and Prairie View.
