Lady Tigers volleyball defeats Joplin

JOPLIN, Mo. -- The Nevada Lady Tigers volleyball varsity rallied to edge the Lady Eagles of Joplin High School in a road match Tuesday night in Joplin.
The Lady Eagles won the opening set by a final score of 26-24, only to see Nevada come back to take the next two by the final scores of 25-23 and 25-19. "Tonight was a great win for us," Lady Tigers head coach Ashley Thoreson said. "We played very well together as a team and had many long rallies that we were able to win. It's so nice to see the girls playing with intensity and being aggressive while also playing smart."
Bree Reppert led the Lady Tigers with five aces and 26 digs, while Rilie Good recorded eight blocks, Morgan McNeley had 26 assists. Regan Kannady recorded a team-high 10 kills.
With the win, the Lady Tigers varsity squad improved to 10-4-2 on the season. Joplin won the junior varsity, 25-16 and 25-13 and the freshman match, 25-5 and 25-12.
The next action on the schedule for the Lady Tigers is set for today, when the Lady Bulldogs of El Dorado Springs come to Nevada Middle School for a JV/varsity doubleheader that is set to begin at 6:30 p.m.
