WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- The Lady Tigers of Warrensburg eliminated the Nevada Lady Tigers from the Class 1, District 12 team tennis tournament Monday in first-round play.
Warrensburg won all five of the matches that were completed on the day before the match was called off. In the No. 4 match, Lauren Baker was the bright spot for Nevada as she beat Warrensburg's Abbie Bliss, 6-4, in the first set and held a 3-2 lead in the second set when the match was stopped.
Warrensburg will move on to play Lamar in the tournament semifinals, while Nevada is now forced to wait for its last chance at Sectional competition until the individual portion of the district tournament begins on Saturday, at 9 a.m., also in Warrensburg.
