Daphne M. Wayne
Daphne M. Wayne passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with cancer at the age of 78. She was reunited with her husband Daniel on Aug. 11, 2012.
Daphne was born in Norwich, England, to Reginald and Lilian Keymer on Aug. 12, 1933. She has lived in the United States since 1972.
Daphne worked at Heartland Hospital for many years. She was also co-owner/operator of the local hotel -- Wayne's Hotel. She was very well known in the community of Nevada and will be sorely missed by all, especially her close and dear friends, Dean and Betty Lewis.
Survivors include one son, Stephen Keymer and his wife, Sue; three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, all of England; one sister in Delaware, Margaret Keesser and her husband Richard; sisters and brothers in England, Beryl Wilson, Jackie Nelson, Christine Parker and her husband John, Barry Abel and his wife Carol, Derek Abel and his wife Diane, and Keith Abel and his wife Glenda, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Wayne; her father, Reginald Keymer; her mother, Lilian Abel; stepfather, George Abel; sister, Maureen Farrow, and brother-in-law, Richard Wilson.
Committal services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 10, in Newton Burial Park, Nevada. Arrangements are under the direction of Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington, Nevada.
Instead of flowers, donations can be made to any cancer center in memory of Daphne in care of Ferry Funeral Home.
