Frank J. Luce
Frank J. Luce, 89, of Lexington, Mo., passed away Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, at his home, following a short illness, surrounded by family.
Frank Luce was born Sept. 17, 1923, in Lexington, the son of John and Maria Luce. He married Janet Lorenz on Aug. 21, 1948, at Lexington. She preceded him in death Dec. 28, 2000.
Mr. Luce was a World War II veteran of the United States Army, as a tank diver. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart and five Bronze Stars. He had retired from Armco Steel, after 42 years, where he had been a truck driver.
He is survived by two daughters, Janet K. Mather and husband, Steve, of Nevada, Mo., and Cheryl A. Montgomery and husband, Paul, of Lexington; a sister, Rose Dedmon of Independence, Mo.; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.
Services were held Monday, Oct. 8, at the Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home, Lexington. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lexington, with military rites.
Memorials may be made in Mr. Luce's memory to Preferred Hospice or the Margaret Gray Senior Center.
