Rose Elaine Dalton
Rose Elaine Dalton, 86, Nevada, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, at Christian Health Care in Nevada. She was born on Jan. 8, 1926, in Sheldon, Mo., to Everette Milton Caldwell and Bertha Mae Raper Caldwell. On Nov. 4, 1944, she married Leland Dalton, who preceded her in death on April 18, 2010.
Rosie was a graduate of Nevada High School and attended William Jewell College in Liberty, Mo. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Order of Eastern Star, The Dianas, MFWC, and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority Laureate Chapter. She had been an active resident of Culpepper Place of Nevada for the past two years. Rosie is best remembered for playing the piano for many events in the Nevada area over the past 50 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Dana Methvin and her husband, Marvin, San Antonio, Texas, and Anne Kreifels and her husband, Christopher, Orlando, Fla.; one son, Jim Dalton, Columbia, Mo.; one granddaughter, Penny Fletcher and her husband, Kelley; four great-grandchildren of Independence, Mo.; and one niece, Julie Kiger, Springfield, Mo. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, John Dalton in 2001; and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 12, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Greg Ferree officiating. Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. at National Cemetery, Fort Scott, Kan. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given in her memory to the First Presbyterian Church or the Dianas, MFWC, in care of Ferry Funeral Home.
