Several Halloween events planned in El Dorado Springs

Saturday, October 20, 2012

Several events on the last Tuesday or Wednesday of October in El Dorado Springs promise to scare, amuse, mystify -- or all of the above.

The Wayside Inn Museum will offer "Candlelight Tours and Ghost Stories" from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30. Refreshments will be available in the museum dining room during the same hours, a news release said.

The FFA Spook House will open at 6 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 30, and 31 and remain open until "folks can't stand to be scared anymore," the release said. Those 10 and older will be admitted for $5.

The fourth annual Spring City Revitalization Group Spooktacular starts at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31, in the park.

This event, which supplies an abundance of candy and goodies to costumed children, starts at 6 p.m. Event sponsors are Mid-Missouri Bank, Community Springs, El Dorado Spring Sun, Centurylink, Shannon and Associates, KB Evans Drug, State Farm-Toshua Barns Agency, Wilkinson Pharmacy and Mercy Clinic.

Other events for the evening will include free reflective tape for costumes, hot dogs, popcorn, snowcones and coffee and tea from 5-9 p.m. at the VFW Hall on the corner of First and Pine streets.

Trunk or Treat at the Church of God (Holiness) parking lot, 1607 South Park, will be from 6-8 p.m.
