During a special meeting at 7 p.m., today, in the council chambers, in the Public Safety Building, 120 S. Ash, the Nevada City Council will begin the process of formally considering an increase in sewer rates and other sewer services, including the tap fees, when they vote on Resolution No. 1355 to have the deputy city clerk publish notices of a public hearing for that purpose. The hearing is scheduled for 7 p.m., Dec. 4, at the Nevada City Hall, 110 S. Ash Street.

The council also plans to consider issuing a liquor by the drink license for Buzz's BBQ LLC, which is moving to 2500 E. Austin Blvd. and the second reading of a special ordinance budgeting money from the city's tourism tax for entertainment at the 2013 Bushwhacker Days celebration.

In addition to those items, the council plans to conduct the first of several budget workshops that will lead up to the council's approval of the city's 2013 fiscal budget in December.
