El Dorado Springs volleyball wins district championship

The Lady Bulldogs of El Dorado Springs High School posted an almost-perfect sweep in the Class 2, District 12 volleyball tournament, taking the tournament title Tuesday.

After a first-round bye as the tournament's top seed, the Lady Bulldogs defeated Stockton in the semifinals by the final scores of 26-24 and 25-14. In the title match, El Dorado Springs needed three sets to do it, but eventually took down College Heights by the final scores of 25-20, 25-17 and 25-15 to take the district championship.

The Lady Bulldogs are scheduled to take on the Lady Jays of Clever in the first round of the Class 2 state tournament, Saturday, at Clever High School.
