Tiger swimmers compete at SWMO Championships

The Nevada High School boys' swim team entered district competition Tuesday at the Southwest Missouri Championships.
All four swimmers competing for the Tigers in the event qualified to come back today for the finals, either equalling or surpassing their personal best times. Jesse Claypool posted a time of 23.86 seconds in the 50-meter freestyle, followed by Morgan Hold at 25.07.
In the 100 freestyle, Dalton Eador posted the best time of the day for Nevada at 55.99 seconds. Hold wasn't far behind, however, as he finished in 59.71. Andrei Ziabchenko finished the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:07.39 and the 200 Individual Medley with a time of 2:29.99
Rounding out the individual showings for the Tigers were Claypool's 1 minute, 4.47 second time in the 100 breaststroke, Bryson Leftwich's 6:40.66 in the 500 freestyle and Michael Matthews' time of 2:50.6 in the 200 freestyle. The Tigers' 200 medley relay team finished in 1:55.33.
"I am very excited that all four of our swimmers qualified to come back and swim in the finals on Thursday," Tigers head coach Ryan Watts said. "All in all, it was a great day for the team and I am very pleased with their performance."
