Seventh grade basketball sweeps Carthage at home
Nevada Daily Mail
The Nevada Middle School seventh-grade basketball teams got back into action Monday night, taking on Carthage Middle School at the Franklin P. Norman City/County Community Center.
Nevada's A team entered the contest with seven wins in eight games on the season and was looking to improve upon a five-game winning streak. That winning streak extended to six games in dominant fashion as Nevada's A team took a 29-10 victory to improve to 8-1 on the year.
Things didn't go nearly as well for Nevada in the eighth-grade games against Carthage. In the A game, Carthage put on a dominant performance and earned the victory by the final score of 40-24. The B game was a much closer affair, but Carthage ultimately came out on top of that contest as well by a final score of 24-20.
Both the seventh and eighth-grade squads were scheduled to be back in action on Tuesday, taking on Neosho, but those results were unavailable at press time.
