ADM slates fundraiser

The Archer Daniels Midland bio-diesel plant at 17700 S. T Highway, near Deerfield, is staging a Christmastime fundraiser for the Community Outreach and Beacon food pantries in Nevada and Fort Scott.

Formerly known as Prairie Pride Inc., ADM's soybean-crushing operation will sell raffle tickets for $1 each or six tickets for $5 and then will raffle items donated by its vendors, a spokeswoman said Thursday.

Tickets go on sale to ADM employees and the public Nov. 26 and end Dec. 10.

"We'll have a bloodmobile here Dec. 12 and a raffle ticket will be given to each participant for their choice of an item," the spokeswoman said. "We'll have the drawing here Dec. 14."
