In the foreground, Brealynn Bowman and Cael Hughes present a check representing the $535 raised by Benton Elementary School students to Principal Misti Rainey, to be presented to Community Outreach, with staff, faculty members and a turkey (Robin Willilams) joining in. Throughout the month of November, students in each classroom competed in the Turkey Tie contest, culminating in a celebration in which the teacher for the winning class was to wear a turkey costume and the second-place teacher was to wear a special Turkey Tie for the school's Thanksgiving feast, Nov. 20. Robin Williams' class won the honor, donating $138.26. Brandy Duncan's class came in second, raising $108.12. Duncan, next to the turkey, wore the Turkey Tie during the feast. Students, staff and teachers also wore ties to school on Nov. 20.
